Carolina Ultrasound Services
and Consulting, Inc. (CUSC) has been providing
quality sonography services in central North Carolina
since its incorporation in 1998. Staffed with
experienced, registered sonographers, CUSC is committed
to 1) helping your practice comply with current
ultrasound safety and protocol standards, 2) helping
your staff gain the knowledge necessary to optimize
accuracy and reliability, and 3) helping ensure that
your patients have a satisfying and enjoyable experience
during their exam.
The owner of CUSC, Sharon Hughes, BS, RDMS, a
sonographer since 1984, has worked in the OB-GYN private
office setting for 19 years and is familiar with the
unique requirements necessary to set up, equip, stock,
staff, and maintain the ultrasound lab conveniently
situated in your office.
Sharon has also taught OB and GYN sonography at the
Ultrasound Center,
Wake Forest
University School of Medicine for over 20 years.
On-site instruction can be provided to your staff in the
areas of OB anatomy documentation and proper measurement
techniques, GYN abdominal and vaginal scanning
protocols, and techniques for performing
sonohysterograms (saline infusion), IUD insertion
guidance, and amniocentesis localization.
Sharon is also familiar with ultrasound lab
accreditation through the
American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, having
maintained lab accreditation for two large OB-GYN
practices since 1998. Lab accreditation counseling can
be provided for your lab to assess what criteria must be
met and the procedures involved to successfully navigate
the accreditation process.
